2010 Sagan Exoplanet Summer Workshop
Stars as Homes for Habitable Planetary Systems
The 2010 workshop will take place July 26-30, 2010 at the Beckman Institute Auditorium
on the Caltech Campus, Pasadena, CA

The workshop will consist of a series of tutorial discussions covering theory and observations associated with the topics below. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience characterizing variable stars, finding planets, etc., through working with Kepler and CoRoT data. Attendees will also have the opportunity to present brief summaries of their current research. Financial assistance for travel and accommodations will be available for successful applicants.

Registered attendees will be invited to submit short presentations (pops) on their research. The on-line presentation submission site will be available in June 2010 and a schedule of submitted research pops will be released about 2 weeks before the workshop.
Financial Support - applications due March 5, 2010
Attendees may apply for financial support to attend the workshop. Applications are due March 5, 2010 and decisions will be announced by March 26, 2010. If you are awarded travel and/or lodging support for the workshop, you must abide by all rules in the travel guidelines (see links below) and stay at the Pasadena Hilton, the workshop hotel.
Workshop Registration
- Early On-line Registration (Feb. 5, 2010 - June 5, 2010): $200
- Late On-line Registration (June 5, 2010 - July 9, 2010): $250
- On-site Registration: $300
- Extra Ticket for Wednesday afternoon tour to the Griffith Observatory: $25 (includes box lunch and transportation)
- Extra Ticket for Thursday evening workshop dinner at Mijares restaurant: $37
Registration Fee includes:
- opening reception
- conference attendance and materials
- transportation between the Pasadena Hilton and Caltech on workshop dates
- light breakfast each day of the workshop
- box lunches on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
- light snacks and drinks during morning and afternoon breaks each day of the workshop
- 1 ticket to attend workshop tour to Griffith Observatory on Wednesday afternoon (extra tickets available for purchase)
- 1 ticket to attend workshop dinner on Thursday at Mijares restaurant (extra tickets available for purchase)
