Sunday evening, May 1, 2011 - opening reception 6-8 pm, High Country Conference Center

Attendees will be able to register, pick-up conference materials, and greet colleagues at the conference center. Light refreshments will be served and each registrant will receive a ticket for one drink (beer, wine, soda or a call drink). Additional drinks may be purchased.

Monday evening, May 2, 2011 - public lecture by Dr. Geoff Marcy at 7:30 pm

Dr. Marcy of UC Berkeley will give a presentation titled "Earth-size Planets and Intelligent Life in the Universe" at Prochnow Auditorium on the Northern Arizona University campus (see map), just across from the conference center. Free parking is available in the parking structure adjacent to the conference center. Tickets for this free event will be distributed at the registration table. Tuesday evening, May 3, 2011 - reception at Mars Hill, Lowell Observatory from 6:30-9 pm

Attendees will enjoy light refreshments and drink and have the chance to tour the Mars Hill facility.

Note that although this is a short distance (1.4 miles), the lack of sidewalks along the whole route make this route not safe to walk in the dark. Light refreshments will be served and each registrant will receive a ticket for one drink (beer, wine, soda). Additional drinks may be purchased.

The Lowell Observatory visitor center and gift shop will be open, along with the rotunda museum. Visitors can enjoy the view through a variety of telescopes including Percival Lowell's 24" Alvan Clark refractor. Attendees should park in the visitor parking spaces and are strongly encouraged to carpool.

Thursday evening, May 5, 2011 - banquet at Forest Highlands Club from 7-10 pm

Banquet tickets still available for purchase! Enjoy a chance to share a meal with conference attendees at the Forest Highlands Golf Club (657 Forest Highlands Drive). Bryan Bates, a Flagstaff-based astronomer, will speak about the archeoastronomy of northern Arizona. Tickets for this event are $25 each and may be purchased through the registration site. The ticket includes a full buffet dinner (with vegetarian choices) and two vouchers for beer/wine/soda.

Forest Highlands is a 15-minute drive from the conference center; click here for directions to Forest Highlands from the conference center. You can also follow the driving directions posted on the Forest Highlands website (use the directions from Las Vegas after the merge onto I-17 South)

The evening's schedule will be:

Each attendee will receive two drink tickets to be used for beer, wine, soda or an after dinner liqueur.

You will be asked at the conference registration table if you are willing to give people rides to the banquet and we'll have carpool sign-up sheets available at the conference center.
