Workshop Site
The SIM Science Studies Workshop (SSSW) will be held in the Piazza Room of the Pasadena Sheraton (303 Cordova St., Pasadena, CA 91101). A registration table will be outside the meeting room and staffed starting at 8 am each day. Coffee and other refreshments will be provided before the meeting each day and during morning and afternoon breaks.
Internet Access
Wireless internet access will be provided in the meeting room. Please note, we will not be providing computer access. If you wish to make use of the internet access, bring a laptop, or make arrangements to use a colleague's. Instructions for connecting to the wireless will be included in your registration packet.

The SSSW will be held at
the Sheraton
Pasadena. The hotel is located in the heart
of
Pasadena, just south of the Paseo Colorado shopping and dining
area. Internet access is available in guest rooms for a charge
($3.95/30 min. ; $9.95/24 hours). Free wireless access will be
available in the meeting room.
A
limited number of rooms at the government rate
of $118/night/double has been reserved for meeting attendees on a first
come basis. An additional block of rooms at a rate of $149/night
is also available once the government rate rooms have been

Getting Around
Shared Van Rides
If you arrive at LAX International Airport and need ground transportation to Pasadena, try one of the shuttle services (also known as "shared ride vans") available on a walk-up or reservation basis. The vans are available outside of LAX baggage claim under the orange sign.
Typical one way, per person fare for Super Shuttle (1-800-BLUE-VAN; fares subject to change without notice) to the Sheraton Pasadena from various airports are:
LAX: $48.00
Burbank: $35.00
Ontario: $48.00
Long Beach: $49.00
FlyAway Bus
The LAX FlyAway bus can also be taken from LAX to Union Station in downtown Los Angeles. These buses run every half-hour and the fare is $4 one way. The Gold Line can be taken from Union Station to the Memorial Park station in Pasadena. Memorial Station is approximately 1 mile north of the Sheraton Pasadena.
Parking at the Hotel
For those driving to the meeting on their own, parking is available at the hotel for $13/day for overnight guests and $7/day for guests not spending the night.
Bus Transportation between the Sheraton Pasadena and JPL for the Sept. 24 afternoon tour
Bus transportation will be provided from the Sheraton Pasadena to JPL on the afternoon of Sept. 24 for the tour of the SIM testbeds. The bus will return to the Sheraton following the tour. If you're planning on attending the JPL tour, please register by Sept. 5 in order to give enough time for JPL security clearance. More details on the JPL tour to come.
