Abstract:
Through several examples, taken from numerous groups, I
will describe
the large scale properties of disks around young low-mass stars. The
examples will include ground-based adaptive optics imaging and dual
beam polarimetry, as well as space-based imaging and coronagraphy. As
much as possible, I will try to use the most recent material
available. I will describe the general appearance of disks extracted
from high resolution scattered light images over as large a wavelenth
range as possible, from the optical to the mid-infrared.
Because the scattering process is intimately linked to the dust
optical properties, I will also briefly describe the dust properties
derived from models of the intensity and polarisation maps.
