 Abstract:

We present the results from an innovative sparse-aperture interferometry experiment using the Keck Long Wavelength Spectrometer to measure thermal infrared sizes of young stellar objects (YSOs). The experiment transformed Keck into a Fizeau interferometer by tilting specific subsets of mirror segments and interfering light in the image plane. Fringe data from some of the segment tilt geometries were used to generate thermal images of YSOs. YSOs have been well resolved and a strong asymmetry in  shape has been detected in at-least one of the sources.
